Double-sided poster with a map of the U.N. Committee partition. Published by the "Bureau of Current Affairs", "Fosh & Cross" printing press, London, 1947. English.
Pamphlet-poster no. 37 from the series "Map Review": a map of Palestine according to the Partition Plan, with a detailed review of the soil quality, population centers and the summarized conclusions of the "U.N. Special Committee on Palestine". On the other side of the poster are three items on current events.
The series "Map Review" was printed by the British Army shortly after World War II, and supplied military officials with pamphlets that featured a map on one side and a current affairs review on the other side. Their printing was expensive (especially in light of the lack of resources at the end of the war), to the point of causing disputes in the government, until finally being stopped. Poster no. 37 concerned the U.N.'s Partition Plan.
76.5X101 cm. Fair-good condition. Folding marks, creases and tears (some reinforced with adhesive tape). On the reverse is a drawing of Palestine according to the Partition Plan, in blue pencil.
