Extra sanctity is attributed to this book, Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Landa of Kisvarda writes in his book “Shulchan Melachim”, on the laws related to the birthing mothers “and it has become customary to place the book, wrapped in a sheet beneath the head of the birthing mother as she experiences the contractions – and it is customary to place the holy book Noam Elimelech and the holy book Or Ha-Chochma”. [His words are quoted in the Poskim’s books]. It is also reported that the Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein of Vac, “was used to sending the “Or Ha-Chochma” to laboring mothers, so it could be placed beneath their cushion as a Segulah for an easy birth”. See enclosed material.
