"Liberated Judea", a silver medal designed and issued by "Bezalel". The "Liberated Judea" medals were awarded in 1918, after the conquest of Jerusalem by the British, to the soldiers of the 40th battalion of the Royal Fusiliers (the first Palestinian Jewish legion) as a token of appreciation for their service.
Obverse: A palm tree and a woman beside it undoing her chains while a Roman soldier escapes. On the lower part, the Hebrew legend "Liberated Judea". Reverse: Star of David and the Hebrew legend "The Volunteers of the Nation, Palestine, 1918". Diameter: 25 mm. Suspension loop.
Enclosed: An additional copy of the medal, made of a different metal, without a suspension loop.

Pendant for the first Tower of David Exhibition, 1921.
The Tower of David Exhibitions which took place in the Tower of David in Jerusalem during 1921-1932, were the main activity center of the Hebrew Artists Association [later the Israel Painters and Sculptors Association]. They are considered an important milestone in the history and development of Israeli art.
Obverse: Relief of the Tower of David next to the Hebrew legend "Jerusalem Tower of David", surrounded by the legend "First Art Exhibition" in English, Hebrew and Arabic, and "1921". Reverse: Blank.
Diameter: 26 mm. Suspension loop.

A plaque and four medals awarded in Sports competitions in Palestine in the 1930s and 1940s.?1. Medal awarded in a rowing competition in Haifa in 1932. On one side is a relief of a rower, signed: "E. Fraisse". On the other side - a wreath, the legend "rowing surfboard grade B", name of the medal winner and the legend "Dolphin 15 X 32". Diameter: 40 mm. Suspension loop.?2. Plaque made by Shmuel Krechmer - "Prize A" award in the National championship, 1935, on behalf of the "Amateur Sports Association in Palestine". In the center is a map of Palestine, surmounted by a Star of David and the Hebrew legend "Yerushalem". Signed on verso in Hebrew: "Krechmer Jerusalem". 29x44 mm.?3. * A pin in honor of a "Sportive Celebration" in Ra'anana, Sukkot, [1927]. * Pin with the Hebrew legend "HaMagen, Lag BaOmer 1937", with an emblem shaped as a bow and aquiver. * Seven identical pins with a figure of an archer, for "The Conference of Schools 1938". * Nine pins and tokens of the "Tir" marksmanship club. * Pins of the "Marksmanship Club". * Pin of the "Zevulun Mariners Association". * Two pins of the "Sport and Sea" club.
Size and condition vary. Some of them appear in several copies. Some of them are without their clasps.

Two pins designed by Bezalel artists:
1. A pin with the portrait of Mendele Mocher Sfarim, designed by Meir Gur-Arieh (Signed in Hebrew "M.G."). [Jerusalem, 1918]. The portrait appears in the center of the pin, under it the Hebrew legend "Mendele M.S." and on both its sides, the Hebrew years of his life, 1836-1918. On verso of the pin appears the Hebrew legend "The Teachers Association Jerusalem", for which the pin was made.
Diameter: 27 mm. Good condition. The welding points of the pin on verso hide part of the legend.
2. "HeChalutz" pin made by Shmuel Krechmer, after the image of the plowman by Erich Goldberg, which appeared on the binding of the second Golden Book of the JNF.
In the center of the pin there is a farmer in Biblical-like attire, plowing with a pair of oxen towards the rising sun. On the lower part appears the Hebrew legend "HeChalutz". Signed "S. Krechmer" (Hebrew).
Diameter: 25 mm. Good condition.

2. A small badge with a star-of-David and an envelope. Signed: "Krechmer".

Cap badge of the "First Judeans" Jewish Battalion. London, [ca. 1919].
A cap badge shaped a s a seven-branched Menorah under which there is a motto-ribbon with the Hebrew slogan "Forward". The name of the manufacturer appears on the badge: "Jennens & Co. London".
During the late 1919, after World War I and the dismantle of some of the military units, the remaining soldiers of the Jewish Battalions were gathered into one battalion – HaRishon LiYehuda (the First Judeans) – which had a Hebrew name and badge. The battalion was dismantled by the British after some of its soldiers came to the help of the Yishuv during the 1921 Riots.
Approx. 3x5.5 cm (including the latch on the back). Good condition. Several stains.
