Nicoll's Birds of Egypt, a guidebook to the birds of Egypt. This book is based the research of Michael John Nicoll (1880-1925), a British ornithologist and director of the zoological gardens in Giza.
The book contains several introduction chapters, dealing with the geography of Egypt, migratory birds and birds in ancient Egypt, and a detailed handbook and checklist of all kinds of birds, sedentary and migratory.
The book includes numerous illustrations, 37 plates in color with photographs and pictures of birds of Egypt, three maps (folding plates), and a frontispiece portrait of Nicoll.
Vol. I; 1-348, XVI, pp + [18] plates, 32 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains (mainly to margins). Creases at margins of leaves. Two first leaves are partly detached. Paper label on inner side of front bindings. Damage to margins of binding.
Vol. II; 349-700 pp + [19] plates, 32 cm. Fair-good condition. Significant worming. Stains and creases (mostly to margins of leaves). Damage to margins of binding.
