He Kaine Diatheke / Novum Testamentum [The New Testament], by Stephanus Curcellaeus. Amsterdam: Danielem Elsevirium, 1675. Greek and a little Latin. Two parts in one volume.
The New Testament in Greek. The book has been re-bound – its leaves were inlaid in larger leaves (to widen the margins) and were bound with blank leaves, for notes. On the margins of the leaves and on the blank leaves are many handwritten notes, some of the long, in Latin (18th century?). A signature appears on the title page: "Laurentius Maneken" [possibly, the notes in the book were written by the German scholar Lorenz Manecke].
[12], 420, 312 pp + additional leaves (some with handwritten notes and others blank). 27.5 cm. Good condition. Many stains. Minor blemishes to binding.
From the estate of Prof. Shlomo Simonson.
