Mike Brant / Mike (Moshe) Brand

Opening: $2,500
Sold for: $3,125

"Lahiton" had a very special relationship with Mike Brant, just like with Zvika Pik. The magazine documented and reported all of Mike Brant's moves while all the other papers completely disregarded him. It seems as if Brant was "loyal" to "Lahiton" and when he became very famous in France he agreed to have exclusive interviews with "Lahiton" and supplied information that no other paper could get. About 300 photographs and 18 color slides.
Presented is an extensive collection of photos documenting Brant's activity from beginning to end. Photos with his family, photos of performances, behind the scenes, with friends and with admirers in Israel and in France; a photo signed by Brant on the front and on the reverse (1968), a CBS postcard in color; photos of Brant with various Israeli artists: Boaz Sharabi, Yafa Yarkoni, Gabby Shushan, Kaveret band; portrait photos: two photos of Mike with the Baroness of Melici, walking on the beach; newspaper cuttings of interviews and front-cover photos of Mike and two booklets in French dedicated to him;"Private Album of Mike Brant" – Special Edition (1975); Photos of Mike in performances abroad (photos taken by Patrick Ullmann and Gerard Deballe); color slides of Mike on the background of the sea; sixty photos of the suicide scene and the funeral.
