The Hebrew Bible, the Apocrypha and the New Testament translated by Martin Luther, accompanied by hundreds of woodcuts: two title pages (a main title page and a title page for the books of the Prophets), a portrait of Augustus, Elector of Saxony, and many in-text illustrations (presumably by Johann Teufel).
26, 332, 372 leaves, 38 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains. Closed and open tears, some large (affecting text) and restored with paper. Handwritten notations to inside boards (old, one on a mounted piece of paper). Elegant leather binding with buckles and corner guards (some missing), damaged and worn. The leather straps are missing.
