Rabbi Meir Auerbach (1815-1878), Av-Beit-Din of kalisch and Jerusalem, of the great rabbis of his time. Son of Rabbi Yitzchak Itzek Auerbach Av-Beit-Din Lontshitz author of "Divrei Chaim", and grandson of Rabbi Chaim Auerbach Av-Beit-Din Lontshitz, author of "Divrei Mishpat". "Imrei Bina" by Rabbi Meir Auerbach is an essential book of Talmudic and Halachic commentaries.
Made Aliya to Eretz Yisrael in 1859 and was the first rabbi officially appointed as Jerusalem's Ashkenazi community rabbi. Aside from his greatness in Torah and Halacha, was an outstanding Kabbalist and studied in the Biet El Yeshivah.
