Letter by Rabbi Yossef Arvatz, emissary of Hebron, to Rabbi Chaim Ben Moshe Ben-Na'im, Oufrane (Morocco), 1901.
Letter concerning receipt of money from Amar family, of the wealthy families in Buenos Aires, sent through Rabbi Ben-Na'im, rabbi of Gibraltar, who dispatched a letter to Mogador for Rabbi Yossef Arvatz, in Oufrane at the time.
Rabbi Yossef Arvatz (1847-1925), was born in Rabat (Morocco), moved to Jerusalem where he studied. Served as Dayan and became one of the leading rabbis in Jerusalem. Went many times to various countries on missions on behalf of Torah institutions in Hebron and Jerusalem. During the years 1903-1925 resided in Jaffa and served as Sephardi rabbi of the city.
