Letter from Rabbi Yoel Katz Av-Beit-Din Erder (near Satmar).
Written to "My dear friend, the great Rabbi, Shalita" of the city Satmar, the writer discusses matters of printing his book Pardes Rimonim [Satmar 1935] and thanks for the approbation he got. [Approbations were by Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky, Rabbi Yesha'ayahu First, Rabbi Akiva Sofer and Rabbi Yehuda Tzirelsohn]. On the back of the postcard he announces that "my only son… Pinchas Chaim became engaged to the daughter of the Ga'on of Chop, author of the Shulchan Ha'ezer [Rabbi Yitzchak Levovitz), granddaughter of the Rabbi of Shamlau, [Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich].
Rabbi Yoel Katz, (perished in the holocaust 1944) disciple of Rabbi Shimon Greenfeld, Rabbi Yehuda Grunwald and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich. Served as Rabbi of Erded in the vicinity of Satmar [where divorces of the city of Satmar were arranged, due to doubts regarding the spelling of the name Satmar in the divorce documents]. Was involved with Takanat Agunot and Heterei Mea Rabanim. His books: Pardes Rimonim Responsa, Talalei Orot and more.
Large postcard 105 X 15.5 cm written on both sides. (signed on each side). Very good condition.
