Letter by Rabbi Ya'akov Ze'ev Cahana from Pesval, to Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov Bramzohn. 1898[?].
“…in many places in his book he instilled spirit of life… therefore, I wrote to him with a request that he please share his pleasant words of Torah with me because my soul is thirsty for his Torah…”.
The Ga’on Rabbi Ya'akov Ze'ev, son of Rabbi Avraham Cahana (Ozar Ha’Rabbanim 10057), was a genius and Posek, Av Beit Din of Pesval. He is the author of “She’erit Ya'akov”, “Toldot Ya'akov”, and more.
The recipient of the letter, the Ga’on Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov Bramzahn (for more information related to him see item 115), is the author of the book “Shimsha D’Shmuel”. In his composition he mentions that he answered the scholars of Pesval, especially Rabbi Ya'akov Ze'ev Cahana regarding the answer which he was asked about (see enclosed material).
