Letter from R. Mordechai Shapiro of Zhelechov (Żelechów), descendant of the rebbes of Neshchiz, Ustila and Koidanov. [ca. 1860s].
In the letter, addressed to his relative R. Yaakov, R. Mordechai inquires about the wellbeing of a relative - most probably his great-great-uncle Rebbe Yitzchak of Neshchiz (d. 1868). R. Mordechai also asks R. Yaakov to assist his relative R. Yitzchak Wohl, who is in great debt.
Most of the letter is written by a scribe, with the addition of three lines at the end handwritten and signed by R. Mordechai.
Rebbe Mordechai Shapiro of Zalchov (d. Chanukah 1896 or 1897), brother of R. Yaakov Perlow, first Novominsker Rebbe. He was a close follower of Rebbe Yitzchak of Neshchiz.
