Approx. 300 photographs and Real Photo postcards from the Yishuv period. Palestine, [ca. 1920s to 1940s].
Large, varied collection of photographs, mostly from private albums, documenting Palestine in the decades before the establishment of the state: studio photographs of individuals or couples, photographs of tourists visiting Palestine, numerous photographs documenting group trips throughout the country, historical sites, the establishment of settlements ("Tower and Stockade" and more) and building works in existing villages and towns, streets and figures in cities in Palestine, and further themes. Numerous photographs stamped with photographers' stamps (a variety of photographers and studios in Palestine) and captioned, captions describing the photographed sites. Several photographs are from the 1950s to 1970s.
Size varies, ca. 4X3 cm. to 14X9 cm. Mostly postcard-sized. Condition varies.
