Rabbi Eliezer Zeev Merilus the Rebbe of Butashtash (1853-1946) was the son of Rabbi Yosef Aharon of Dorohoi. He was a close disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz and traveled to him 16 times. He served in the rabbinate of Pashtzlov on the Visella. In 1913 he succeeded his father as Rabbi and Rebbe of Butashtash. (Encyclopedia of Chasidut, 1, pages 266-267).
