Keter Torah, 613 commandments and 7 rabbinical commandments, by R. David Vital. Constantinople: Eliezer son of Gershom Soncino, 1536.
The composition is based on a 620-word poem (numerical value of Keter), where each word alludes to a different commandment, with commentaries, laws and novellae.
Illustration of internal organs of a cow (pertinent to laws of terefot). Lacking illustration of hands (relating to calendar).
Early ownership inscrptions on title page.
Incomplete copy. [120] leaves. Lacking 8 leaves: 4 leaves in middle (leaves 13-16 – gathering 4) and 4 final leaves. 18.5 cm. Thick paper. Condition varies. Most leaves in good condition. Title page and final leaves in fair condition. Stains. Open tears to title page and four final leaves, with significant damage to text and border, repaired with paper. Minor worming to first leaves. Margins of several leaves trimmed close to text. New binding.
