Jean Zuallart’s account of his journey to Eretz Israel, with a detailed description of Jerusalem and the holy places. About 50 fine engravings are integrated into the text including maps, views and sites in Jerusalem and in other towns. Among them are engravings that portray the walls of Jerusalem, the Holy Sepulchre, Mount of Olives, Rachel's Tomb, Jaffa and more. [24], 191, 235, 230, [1] pp, 20 cm. Good condition. Stains. Original fine vellum binding, with pinholes for insertion of laces for securing the book (one original lace is attached). Gold embossing on both covers: "The Society of Writers to the Signet". Some tears and damages to binding.
