Unsold
Journal from the Bergen-Belsen DP camp and two booklets issued by Poalei Zion (The Workers of Zion). Germany, 1945-1948. Yiddish and a little German and English.
1. "Unzer Sztyme" [Our Voice], journal of She'erit Hapletah at the Bergen-Belsen DP camp. Issue no. 4. Published by "Tzenraler Yiddisher Camitet in Bergen-Belzen" [The Central Jewish Committee Bergen-Belsen], October 1945. Editorial staff: Rafael Olevski, David Rosental, Paul Trepman.
The journal (mimeographed) contains memoirs, stories and poems written by the DPs as well as reports and articles about life in the camp (the first congress of She'erit Hapletah held in the camp, the activity of the aid organizations, a hunger strike of the DPs in protest of the conditions in the camp, a report about a trial of Nazi criminals in Lüneburg, and more). The journal features illustrations and photographs (some of the photographs document the extermination camps immediately after their liberation and are hard to watch). A handwritten signature on top of the front cover: "Zerubavel, 15. X. 1945" [presumably, the signature of Ya'akov Zerubavel].
68 pp, 29.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains (mostly on the cover and first and last leaves). Tears to the edges of several leaves (slightly affecting the text. A long tear to one leaf).
2. Ber Borochov (1881-1917), Zayn Lebn, Shafn un Kamf [Ber Borochov, His Life, Work and Struggle]. Germany: "Poalei Zion", 1946. At the beginning of the booklet, a photographed portrait of Borochov.
32 pp, approx. 21 cm. Good condition. Detached cover, torn along the spine.
3. Dreysik-Yariker Vikuach [An Argument of Thirty Years], by Zerubavel [Ya'akov Zerubavel]. Munich: "Nay Velt" for "Poalei Zion (left)", [1948].
39 pp, approx. 21 cm. good condition. Stains. Tears, especially along the spine and the inner margins of the leaves. The cover is partly detached.
