"Jacob pins, Woodcuts to illustrate the story by Heinrich von Kleist Michael Kolhaas… Printed by hand, signed and numbered by the artist in twenty five copies". Jerusalem: Tarshish (prints dated by hand: 1952). Hebrew and English. 12 prints (nine in large format, and three smaller ones), created by the artist Jacob Pins for the Hebrew edition of the novella Michael Kolhaas, published by Tarshish. Each print is signed and dated by Pins, in Hebrew and English (pencil), and matted (the three smaller prints are matted together). Two title pages and tables of content in Hebrew and English. Copy no. 25 of 25 copies. Kleist's novella, Michael Kolhaas, was published by Tarshish in 1953, with reduced reproductions of Pins's woodcuts. The Woodcuts in this portfolio were printed by Pins using the original printing blocks. [1] folded sheet (title pages and list of prints), [12] woodcuts (nine large – approx. 30X22 cm, and three smaller prints – 9X26 cm), matted (mats: 50 cm.). Placed in a folder. Good condition. Some stains (prints are clean). Tears and minor wear to folder.
