"Intelligence report, exposure of a Syrian espionage and terror network in Israel". February 1973.
A comprehensive report surveying the exposure of a Jewish-Arab espionage network headed by Daud Turki.
In 1972, the Israel Security Agency exposed a pro-Syrian Jewish-Arab espionage network, headed by Daud Turki. The publication of the affair in Israeli media shocked the public, mainly due to the fact that Jews were involved in spying against Israel. The focus of attention was on the Jewish members of the network, headed by Udi Adiv (originally from Kibutz Gan Shmuel and member of the Marxist –Leninist organization "Red Front") and Dan Vered. Both admitted during investigations that they transferred information to Syrian agents and told about their trips to Syria for sabotage training. In March 1973 the network members were sentences: the head of the network, Daud Turki and Adiv, were sentenced to 17 years in prison, Dan Vered was sentences to 10 years in prison. Other members were also sentenced to shorter periods in prison.
This report surveys the organization of the espionage network (the organizational model and typical characteristics of the members), the goals and aims of the network, its organization and activities. The report includes three attachments: scheme of the network, "index of the members involved in the Syrian espionage and terror network" and "dates of joining the network".
