Decorated ketubah, on the marriage of Yeshaya Tzitoni with the bride Costantsa Castili.
Rome, November 25, 1888.
Ink and paint on parchment. Square Italian writing.
At the top of ketubah is the word "B'Echad" in a decorative frame, under the inscription "B'Simana tava u'vemazala ma'alya l'chatana u'l'kalat…". The frame is decorated with a bugle, flowers, a jug, a helmet of a Roman soldier and boats in the sea. On the bottom is an illustration of a basin leaning on spears and wooden supports, emitting fire and smoke.

48.5X67.5 cm. Folding marks. Minor tears to margins. Stains, primarily to margins. Some of the illustrations were newly painted or their color was reinforced.
