A book for study of the Hebrew Alphabetby Shlomo Bastomsky and Malka Chaimson. The book is accompanied by illustrations (black and white); at the end of the book appear seven thick leaves with printed Letters (for cutting).
Shlomo Bastomsky (1891-1941), born in Vilnius, Yiddish author, editor, publisher and educator. Bastomsky studied in the Vilnius teachers' seminary and served as a teacher in "Mefitze Haskalah" school in Vilnius. He was devoted to children's literature and Yiddish journalism, and was engaged for many years in publishing periodicals for children and for youth. Among others, he founded a publishing house by the name of "Naye Yidishe folksshul" which published study books in Yiddish. Most books by this publishing house were composed and edited in cooperation with his wife, children's author Malka Chaimson.
