"Hilchot Talmud Torah" - printed during the lifetime of its author, Rebbe Shneur Zalman of Liadi – The Baal HaTanya and Shulchan Aruch Harav. The book was originally published without mention of the author's name, who is merely referred to as "author of Sefer HaTanya…".
The second edition was printed five years after the first edition (Shklov, 1794), that went quickly out of print, and of which "not a copy was to be found in the entire city…" (see: the title page; Hebrew).
[2], 34 ff. Approx. 18 cm. Good condition. Stains and minor wear. Worming and tears, including open tears to some leaves, with damage to text – most repaired with paper. Leaves trimmed, with damage to headings. Stamp and inscriptions to title page. New binding.
