The plates' portfolio, accompanying originally, a book about the Cave of Machpela (Cave of the Patriarchs), presents the research of two researchers from the French Biblical and Archaeological School in Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Inspector of Antiquities for the British Administration in Palestine.
The portfolio contains 28 plates with illustrations, photographs and drawings of the Cave of Machpela. Among the plates: View of Hebron and the Cave; photos taken in the Cave and next to it; five large plates, folded: plan of the interior and drawings of the exterior, and more.
28 plates + Title page and Table of Contents (uncut sheet, folded into four). 23 plates: 29X39 cm; five plates: 58X39 cm, folded in two. Good condition. Slight creases. Slight tears and spotting around the edges of some of the plates. Minor damages to portfolio.
