Hanukkah lamp. Unidentified manufacturer, Israel, [1950s].
Brass, cast and turned; wood.
Row of candleholders, including servant light in the middle, held up high by the upraised arms of the two symbolic figures, namely, on the right, an elderly rabbi, clad in a robe with a sash, holding a scroll or book, and on the left, a young Jewish pioneer. The two figures are supported on a wooden base, inscribed (in brass) with the Hebrew words (appearing in a number of Jewish prayers associated with Hanukkah) "in those days at that time."
Height: 20 cm. Width (of wooden base): 17 cm. Good condition.
