Flag of Israel, with a white Star of David. Israel [1948].

In the center of the flag appears a Star of David made of white ribbons with two light blue stripes on both sides.
After the establishment of the State of Israel the Provisional State Council was debating what the flag of the state will be like. The flag with a blue Star of David was officially adopted to serve as the Israeli flag on October 28 1948, about six months after the establishment of the state. Until this decision was made all kinds of "non-official" flags were distributed, like the one presented here. These flags were archived as soon as the official shape and color of the flag were anchored in the state's law.
Length: 55 cm, width: 93 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains. Folding marks.
