Envelope with a "Do'ar Ivri" stamp, value 10 Mils, and a postal stamp from Ramat-Gan of May 16 1948. On the left side appear an illustration and a text noting the Declaration of the State of Israel "Independence Day 15.5.1948"; on the upper part of the envelope is an illustration with the Flag of Israel and the writing "First Day".
The envelope is hand-signed by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and some Ministers and members of the first Knesset: Eliezer Kaplan (deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance), Moshe Shertok (Foreign Minister), David Remez (Transportation Minister), Aharon Zisling, Bechor-Shalom Shitrit (Police Minister), Mordechai Bentov, Felix Rosenblit (=Pinchas Rosen, Justice Minister), Haim Moshe Shapira (Minister of Interior, Health and Aliyah), Peretz (Fritz) Bernstein and Yitzchak Greenboim (Member of the Provisional State Council and Minister of Interior of the Provisional Government of Israel). Altogether 11 signatures. Envelope 12.5X15 cm. Good condition.
