Embroidered tablecloth for Passover. Persia, early 20th century. Cotton and colorful embroidery threads. This ornament, prepared especially for Passover, was embroidered by hand in a dense vegetal and geometric pattern, with embroidered birds. In the center, within a rhombus, appears a floral embroidery, surrounding the verses: “Savari Maranan…”. Pairs of flowers and birds are embroidered all around as well as the inscription “Raban Gamliel Haya Omer…”. Length: 67 cm, width: 96 cm. Good condition.
