Personal inscription upon title page: “A gift sent to me by the master, the young Refael Meyuchas son of Rabbi Shmuel”. On the other side of the title page an inscription of the donator: “To the Holy City of Jerusalem, to the exceptional honored Rabbi Refael”.
The Ga’on Rabbi Refael son of Rabbi Shmuel Meyuchas (1705-1771), author of Pri Ha’Adama responsa, was among the great Torah scholars of Jerusalem. He served as Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem (Rishon L’Zion), from the year 1756.
