Menu and program of dinner in London in honor of Sir Herbert Samuel, several days after his appointment as the first High Commissioner for Palestine and 15 days prior to his arrival to Eretz Israel. London, June 15, 1920. English.
1. Zionist Organisation Dinner to the Rt. Hon. Sir Herbert Samuel, G.B.E (High Commissioner for Palestine) / Dr. Ch. Weizmann in the Chair. Tuesday, June 15th, 1920. Empress Rooms, Royal Palace Hotel Tuesday, June 15th, 1920. A printed card. The above text is printed on the front and on the reverse – the menu.
2. Toast List – a printed card with the list of speakers during the dinner: The King, The Queen, Prince of Wales and other Royal family members; Sir Herbert Samuel, Nahum Sokolov, Sir Alfred Mond (Lord Melchett), Sir John Simon, Sir Robert Waley-Cohen and the Chief Rabbi of London. On the reverse appear nine autographs in pencil of some of the participants: Herbert Samuel, John Simon, Nahum Sokolov, Chaim Weizmann and others (several signatures have not been deciphered). Two cards 15X9.5 cm. Printed similarly, on the same paper. Good condition, minor foxing-marks.
