Decorated ketubah, on the marriage of the groom Menachem Ebn Dilak with the bride Estrella Ben-Zaken. Gibraltar, August 30, 1843.
Ink and paint on parchment. Sefardic writing.
At the top of the ketuba are the word "BaRivi'i" and "B'Simana Tava U'Vemazala U'Vishat Ratzon", in square letters and gilded ink. Colored decorated frame: flowers, jugs and a large crown, hand-drawn with a stencil. The amounts are listed in Spanish currency, "Spanish pesos".
Signatures: The groom and witnesses Efraim Konki and Ya'akov Didia Ardit.
59X66 cm. Fair-good condition. Creases and folding marks. Stains. Left margins slightly cutoff. Restored (old restoration) tears and damages in several places with damage to text.
