A letter by David Ben-Gurion to Rabbi Yehuda Leib Fishman Maimon. Typewritten on the official stationery of Prime Minister's Office and hand-signed by Ben-Gurion. Jerusalem, 6.11.1951.
In the letter, the Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, refers to Rabbi Y.L. Maimon's resignation from the Knesset and from his position as Minister of Religions, subsequent to his struggle over the Jewish character of the State. Among other things, Ben-Gurion writes: "You have been dear to me all the time I had been privileged to work with you, you have been seven times dear to me during the days of the State. And I am deeply sorry that the circumstances have caused your resignation from the Government and the Knesset". At the end of the letter, Ben-Gurion wishes Rabbi Maimon success in his literary enterprises and the project of publishing all the writings of Maimonides.
