Pugio fidei adversus Mauros et Judaeos [The Dagger of Faith Against the Moslems and the Jews] by Raymundi Martini (Raymond Martini). Leipzig: Friderici Lanckisi, 1687. Latin, with passages in Hebrew and other languages.
The book "The Dagger of Faith against the Moslems and the Jews" tried to validate Christianity by using Jewish sources and was a key composition in the Jewish-Christian polemic. The author, Raymond Martini (ca. 1220-1285) was a Dominican priest, missionary and censor of Jewish books in Spain. In 1263 he participated in the Barcelona Debate ("Ramban Argument"). Preceding the title page is an engraved plate, depicting a Jew and a Moslem in prayer, and above them a hand emerging from the clouds and pointing a dagger at the Jew.
