Eleven dedication plaques, for hanging on a Parochet (Torah Ark Curtain) in a synagogue or on a Torah Scroll case. [Jerusalem and the Near East, Iraq, Tunisia, Lybia, and other places (?)], late 19th through mid-20th century.
Low grade silver, sawn, engraved and repouseé.
Plaques in different shapes pierced at the margins for hanging on a Torah Ark curtain. Seven round plaques, three shaped as the Tablets of the Law and one shaped as a shield. In memory of deceased from the families: · Sisu (1893). · Shakher (1900). · Zedaka (1902). · Kachuri (Chachuri), 1923. · Sassoon (1925). · Benyamin (1935). · Aharon (1936). · Nahari (1937). · Iraqi Cohen (1940). · Faraji (1946). · Eton (1949).
Size varies, 12.5X7.5 to 27.5 cm (diameter). Condition varies, fair-good. Creases and bends to some plaques or breaks and some damages.
