Approx. 75 lantern slides showing various Jewish-themed pictures and illustrations. Various publishers (including Newton & co. and the "Palestine Exploration Fund"), England [and elsewhere?], [ca. late 19th century or early 20th century].
The collection includes slides showing pictures of Jewish figures (Moses Montefiore, money changers, portrait of a Jerusalemite Jew), title pages and leaves from books and manuscripts (Passover Haggadahs, Halachic books, Bibles), ancient inscriptions from Palestine (from Herod's temple, the caves of Silwan), artifacts (Elijah's chair, Torah mantles), maps of Palestine and Jerusalem, biblical illustrations, and more.
Most of the slides are captioned (on stickers or in the plate; in English).
Approx. 75 slides, Approx. 8X8 cm. Good-fair overall condition. Several slides in fair-poor condition, with cracks to cover glass and blemishes to printings.
