The documents tell how the Wolff couple left Germany after the rise of the Nazi regime and arrived in Shanghai, China, as refugees. Gertrude Wolff was integrated into the Jewish Community and became chairwoman of the women's organization in the Shanghai Jewish Community. Among the documents: a character reference issued by the police in the name of Artur Wolff, Breslau, July 1943; two member-cards of Judischer Kulturbud in Breslau in the name of Gertrude Wolff; an official certificate issued by "Directory of Jewish Refugees" in Shanghai, in the name of Artur Wolff, March 1940; A "Tree Donation" certificate issued by JNF in the name of Gertrude Wolff, Shanghai, 1947; Letters from the following: Chewra Kadischa for Immigrants, WIZO – Shanghai Branch, and other organizations.
