Five decrees concerning Jews. Verona, the 17th and 18th Centuries. Italian.
The decrees deal with various matters pertaining to the Jewish community. One of the decrees, from 1723, forbids Jews who converted to Christianity to enter the Jewish ghetto. Another decree, from 1736 imposes a ban on harming Jews.
All five decrees are headed by Venice's coat of arms, The Lion of Saint Mark (woodcut).
Size and condition vary. Fold lines, stains and creases. Some open tears (small, slightly affecting text). Notations to margins and verso.
