Two letters with Chaim Weizmann's signature, in English, addressed to Sir Aryeh (Leon) Simon:
1. a letter on official stationery, central office of the Zionist Organization in London, of February 6, 1920: "We have the honor of inviting your collaboration in the work of building up the Hebrew University in Palestine by becoming a member of the Advisory Committee which is now being created in England". Stenciled copy of a typewritten letter, hand-signed by Chaim Weizmann in green ink. Leaf 32 cm. Good condition. Several stains.
2. Typewritten letter + attachment, informing Simon about the decision to appoint his as chairman of the Executive Board of the Hebrew University. Weizmann writes that he hopes that Simon's appointment will open a new chapter in the development of the Hebrew University and turn it into an inseparable part of the Jewish Renaissance, for which everybody is hoping. [2] leaves 23 cm. Weizmann's signature on the first leaf. Good condition. Folding marks, several stains.
