Binding with Traces of an Early Manuscript – Sefer Mitzvot Gadol (Semag) – Germany, 14th/15th Century
Opening: $300
Unsold
Early binding, with traces of a manuscript Sefer Mitzvot Gadol – Semag, by R. Moshe of Coucy. [Germany?, ca. 14th/15th century].
Two boards from an early binding (front and back boards, without spine, not attached to each other), with text of an early manuscript Sefer Mitzvot Gadol – Semag in mirror-writing (passages of Positive Commandment 234). Presumably, parchment leaves from an early manuscript were used to cover these boards in a binding, and the ink was transferred from the parchment to the boards.
Two card boards. 34 cm. Fair condition. Tears and damage. Part of ink erased or flaked.
