The author, R. Avraham David Lavut (1815-1890; forefather of the Lubavitcher Rebbe), rabbi of Nikolayev and a prominent Chabad rabbi. He was the close disciple of the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch and his son the Maharash.
[5], 4-180 ff. 31.5 cm. Good condition. Stains (many stains to title page and other leaves). Tears to several leaves (tear to last leaf with slight damage to text). Inscriptions. New binding.
