The "BaMa'aleh" journal was one of the first journals of youth movements in Palestine. These issues were printed during the War of Independence and they contain, alongside the regular sections, articles and sections that reflect the events of the period: reports from the fronts, memorial leaves for the fallen, war songs, lists of youth from the rear settlements, many articles about the Palmach organization, and more. The Declaration of Independence is printed on the title page of the issue from May 1948.
The issues are accompanied by many illustrations and pictures.
Bound in two separate volumes, a volume per year. First volume: 519, [1] pp. Second volume: 487, [1] pp, approx. 28 cm. Good condition. Stains and minor blemishes. Stamps and notations on several pages. Worn and slightly scuffed bindings.
