Abram (Abraham) Krol (1919-2001) Painter and engraving-artist was born in Pabianice, near Lodz, Poland. Studied engineering in France and survived the holocaust under false identity, working as a mechanic in a garage in Avignon. Started art studies in 1943 and held his first exhibition in 1946.
Many biblical images are integrated into Krol's work, reflecting the Chasidic neighborhood where he grew up, as can be well observed in the book in front of us.
