A lengthy polemic letter (7 pages), containing sharp criticism of Agudath Israel in Poland, its leaders – the rebbes of Ger and Radzin, and its activists, by Rebbe Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn – the Rayatz of Lubavitch. Addressed to Rabbi Dr. Pinchas Kohn, Rabbi of Ansbach and executive director of World Agudath Israel. [Rostov], 1923.
Seven leaves, typewritten on one side, lacking ending. In this rare letter, Rebbe Rayatz alleges that the Imrei Emet of Ger and the Tiferet Yosef of Radzin had turned liberal after WWI, introducing secular studies in the boys' schools and yeshivot, and supporting Zionism. He accuses the Agudath Israel activists in Germany of influencing the rebbes to change their approach in their leadership of Orthodox Jewry. The letter includes a review of German Jewish history, beginning with the times of Moses Mendelssohn, describing the destruction wrought by Mendelssohn and his followers, and the work of R. Shimshon Refael Hirsch in rescuing Orthodox Jewry.
To the best of our knowledge, this letter was never published.
[7] leaves. 29 cm. Thin paper. Good condition. Stains and wear. Rust stains from paper clips. Ink faded on some leaves. Folding marks.

Letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneersohn – the Lubavitcher Rebbe, addressed to R. Menachem Porush of Jerusalem. Brooklyn, NY, Sivan 1961.
Typewritten on the rebbe's official stationery, with his handwritten signature and corrections.
In his letter to R. Menachem Porush, Knesset member for Agudath Israel, the rebbe expresses his surprise at R. Porush for thinking that Chabad Chassidut would change its time-honored principle of having no political affiliation.
Addition of one letter and some punctuation in the rebbe's handwriting.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe's approach to the Agudath Israel movement was centered around the Lubavitch tenet of apoliticism, and refraining from associating with anything politically affiliated. This letter was written following a request that the rebbe officially intervene on behalf of Agudath Israel.
This letter was published in part in Yamim Tovim im HaRebbi. It was presumably never published in full.

Manuscript, Yemenite rite Tiklal siddur with commentaries, prayers for every day, Jewish festivals, holidays and fast days. [Yemen, ca. 1653].
This Tiklal siddur is written in a neat, early Yemenite script, characteristic of the 17th century, with predominantly supralinear vocalization. In "windows" within the text, the scribe wrote (relatively short) commentaries, most by Rabbi Yitzchak (Mahari) Wanneh. Each commentary is titled with the letter "Peh" (perush = commentary). The Passover Haggadah contains a full-length commentary attributed to R. Yitzchak Wanneh, written as a surrounding border to the Haggadah text. The siddur also contains many glosses – some long – in other Yemenite hands, containing additional commentary.
At the beginning of the siddur are [7] leaves with additions and supplements, in a later, simple script (characteristic of the 19th/20th centuries).
The manuscript contains: prayers for every day, prayers for Shabbat, Pirkei Avot, songs for Shabbat and Motzei Shabbat, prayers for Rosh Chodesh, prayers for Passover, Passover Haggadah, prayers for Shavuot, Azharot of R. Shlomo ibn Gabirol, prayers for fast days, Megillat Eichah and Kinot, prayers for the High Holidays, prayers for Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret, Hoshaanot, a prayer for rain, Hakafot and Piyyutim for Simchat Torah, prayers for Chanukah and Purim, Purim songs, Megillat Esther (with Tafsir), eulogies, Selichot, "Maranot", Seder HaAvodah for Yom Kippur (by R. Avraham ibn Ezra), blessings, leap years and calendars of the Tekufot, texts for Ketubot, Gittin and contracts.
[166] leaves, approx. 29.5 cm. Lacking leaves at the beginning and end. Condition varies, good-fair to fair-poor. Many stains. Wear and tears. Minor worming. New binding.
The Tekufot calendars begin from the year 1653; this was the basis for our assessment of the date of this work's authorship.

Manuscript, Tiklal siddur for the festivals. [Yemen, ca. 17th century].
Neat script. With supralinear vocalization (to part of the manuscript). The manuscript is lacking the beginning. Also lacking several leaves in the middle (completed by different writers in various periods).
The manuscript begins at the end of Tractate Avot. It contains the order for Motzaei Shabbat; prayers for Rosh Chodesh and Passover, with Passover Haggadah; prayers for Shavuot; prayers and lamentations for fast days and Tisha B'Av; prayers for the High Holidays and Sukkot; Chanukah; Purim; Selichot; Birkat HaMazon and other blessings; blessings for the wedding ceremony. Writer's colophon at end of manuscript: "Completed, praise to G-d – Blessed be He who helped me complete it".
Two leaves were added at the end of the manuscript (by a different writer), from a composition on the Hebrew calendar, mentioning the year 1686. The year 1473, also mentioned in these leaves, was mistakenly lettered on the new binding. This date, which appears in many Tiklal siddurim, was copied from the words of an anonymous author in 1473 and does not reflect the year of writing.
[99] leaves. 20 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Wear and tears. Open tears, affecting text. Several leaves lacking a large part. Paper repairs. New leather binding.
