David de Castro Tartas. First edition of the renowned book on the topic of circumcision, which was printed in many editions, and has also been copied in Mohel ledgers. Illustrated title page, with Biblical scenes. 13, [1] leaves. 18 cm. Good-fair condition. Dark-colored paper. Stains. Tears to title page. New binding. In the Vinograd-Rosenfeld CD, 11 leaves are recorded, but this copy has 13, [1] leaves as recorded in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book.

Brit Yitzchak, tikun of the eighth night, the night of the Brit Milah and tikun for the mohel. Amsterdam, [1768]. In the center of the title page is a woodcut illustration of a circumcision. Portuguese dedication. On Leaf 12 is a Seder of circumcision “for an adult male and for the ‘Jewish Anusim who come from Spain and Portugal…’”. [The phenomenon of Anusim who fled from the countries of the Inquisition to Amsterdam, Holland, was widespread in the 16th and the 17th centuries. This attests to the circumcision of Anusim in the 18th century also]. The last three pages feature a chronological list in Portuguese of the mohalim who lived in Amsterdam and in other Portuguese communities, with the dates of their activities from 1721-1765. [2], 17, [1] leaves. 14.5 cm. Good-fair condition, wear and stains.

Tikun Shlomo – Seder Tikunei Shabbat according to the Ari, with prayers and blessings for various occasions, laws and customs. Amsterdam, [1809]. Several handwritten leaves are bound before the title page. Dedication from 1809: “Gift given from the expert Mohel… Leizer Beniamins known as Hene… to the circumcised baby Avraham ben C. Menish Rodelsheim on the seventh day of Pesach 1809”. Family inscriptions of births, and a leaf of dedication in attractive writing: “Gift to the boy Menachem Mordechai called Menish Rodelsheim who I circumcised on Wednesday the 19th of Marcheshvan 1857… the small child Mordechai ben R’ Avraham Tzokes…” Original elaborate binding, covered with a red velvet fabric with adornments and silver clasps (filigree). [2], 6; 180 leaves. 16.5 cm. Good condition, stains. Wear and minor damages to binding.

Techinot Benot Yeshurun – prayer and pleas for women in German-Yiddish. Sulzbach, 1832. A unique handmade binding, beads sewn unto a lace fabric. Embroidered on both sides of the binding are charming decorations in tiny colored beads: frames, leaves and flowers in brown, white and gold beads, on a blue background. [3], 115 pages. Approximately 17 cm. Good condition. Stains and wear. Damages to binding.
