Louise Schatz (1916-1997), Canadian-born artist and designer, known for her abstract watercolor paintings. Immigrated to Israel in 1951 with her husband, Bezalel Schatz – son of Bezalel's founder Boris Schatz. She was active in the field of applied arts, designing Hanukkah Lamps, baskets, chairs, tables, ceramics, and more. Most of the furniture pieces she designed were composed of an iron frame with woven rope back and woven rope seat, which she made with her own hands (few of the pieces were made by her husband).
