Arba’ah Turim, complete set, (Orach Chaim; Yoreh De’ah; Yoreh De’ah section II, Even Ha’ezer; Choshen Mishpat), Wilhelmsdorf, [1727]. Illustrated title pages (5 title pages).
Ancient ownership signatures: “Koppel Segal”, “Elul 1798, Moshe Avraham [son of Rabbi Aharon David? Segal]”, “Belongs to the great Av Beit Din and Rosh Mativta of Worms Rabbi Moshe…”. Glosses, some of which are signed by Rabbi “Koppel Segal”.
Apparently, these books belonged to the family of the Ga’on Rabbi Ya’akov Koppel HaLevi Bamberger Av Beit Din of Worms (1784-1864), among the greatest rabbis of Ashkenaz during the period of the "Aruch LaNer"; rabbi of Rabbi Zvi Binyamin Auerbach (who cites him numerously in his book "Nachal Eshkol", see section II, p. 117). Articles by him were printed in "Shomer Zion HaNe’eman", however, dozens of his manuscripts were lost throughout the years. An entire article of his biography was published in "HaMa’ayan", Tamuz 1975, volume 15, issue 4. His father, Rabbi Yehuda Moshe HaLevi Av Beit Din of Bischofsheim, passed away in 1820. His father’s father was also known as Rabbi Ya’akov Koppel HaLevi.
4 volumes, 37 cm. General condition good (wear and tear on several leaves), ancient damaged and torn bindings, [c. 1798].
