Achad Ha'am (Asher Ginsberg), handwritten letter, written on an official postcard. London, 1909. Letter concerning literary matters, about a Hebrew essay composed by Achad Ha'am, published in Russian and published again in "HaZman" periodical translated into Hebrew from the Russian translation. "I wonder about this deed. It was explicitly mentioned in the beginning of the Russian translation that this is a translation, and the editors of "HaZman" certainly understood that the translation is from Hebrew and that the Hebrew original text was published or will be published one of these days. Does their literary conscience permit such deed?" Sent to the author and editor Alter Druyanov while he served as ther editor of "HaOlam" periodical, in Vilnius. Achad Ha'am arrived in London in 1908 and worked as a director in the Wissotzky Tea Company. Postcard 9X14 cm. Good condition. Minor stains and creases.
