230 Children’s books. Eretz Israel and additional countries, 20th century.
Diverse collection of Children’s books and study books, some of which are rare or uncommon. Includes dozens of books from first decades of 20th century (from various countries: Eretz Israel, Poland, Belarus, United States and Egypt) as well as many books from 1940s and 1950s and until 1960s and 1970s; majority in Hebrew and some in Yiddish. Among the outstanding books in this collection: study and tale books for children printed in Odessa and Warsaw in 1910s, booklets from series “Otzari, Sifriya Liladim”, printed in New York in 1930s, children’s books which were published in Eretz Israel or independently, “Gdudenu” – illustrated and hand written monthly of “Hakfirim” battalion, Hashomer Hatza’ir, Dubna 1925; children’s books in wide format (width longer than length) printed in Eretz Israel in 1940s and 1950s, and many other children’s books, the majority of which do not appear in the JNUL collection.
