Amtachat Binyamin, on Kohelet, by R. Binyamin, the Maggid of Zalozitz (Zaliztsi). Minkovitz (Mynkivtsi): Joseph son of Isaac, Ezekiel son of Shevach and Moses son of Joseph, [1796].
The work ends in the middle of chapter 9, since the author passed away while he was still in the process of writing this work.
The author, R. Binyamin, Maggid of Zalozitz (d. 1791), was well-versed both in revealed and kabbalistic realms of the Torah. A contemporary of the Baal Shem Tov and early Chassidic masters, he was one of the first disseminators of Chassidic teachings.
Signature on title page of R. Moshe Rosenstein of Berditchev ("R. Moshele Berditchover"; 1821-1902), close disciple of Rebbe Yisrael of Ruzhin, a holy and ascetic man, outstandingly well versed in Torah and Chassidut, held in high regard by the Tzadikim of his times. Immigrated to Safed in 1853.
[2], 1-13, 18-128 leaves. Approx. 20 cm. Fair condition. Stains, including dampstains. Extensive worming, affecting text, repaired with paper. Marginal open tears to title page and several other leaves, repaired with paper. New binding.
