Égypte, Atlas annexé au mémoire sur la communication de la Mer Rouge à la Méditerranée. [מצרים, אטלס נלווה למאמר על קישור הים האדום והים התיכון]. ללא ציון מו"ל או מקום הוצאה. [פריז?], 1802. צרפתית.

אטלס בפורמט גדול (folio) ובו חמישה לוחות תחריט: מפה הידרוגרפית של מצרים, מפה של מיצר סואץ, מפה ולצדה ציור-נוף המציג את אזור מעיינות משה (עיון מוסה), טבלה המציגה מפלסי מים שונים במצר סואץ ומפה של אלכסנדריה.

האטלס נועד ללוות מאמר מאת המהנדס הצרפתי ז'ק-מארי לה פר (Jacques-Marie Le Père, 1763-1841) שנכתב לבקשת נפוליאון בונפרטה ובוחן את האפשרות לכרות תעלה שתקשר בין הים האדום לים התיכון, במקום בו עוברת כיום תעלת סואץ. מאמרו של לה פר פסל את האפשרות לכריית התעלה, אולם כחמישים שנים מאוחר יותר שימש בסיס לתוכניותיו של מהנדס תעלת סואץ פרדיננד דה לספס.

הלוחות המופיעים באטלס שלפנינו (ומאמרו שך לה פר) התפרסמו בסדרת הספרים "Description de l'Égypte" [תיאור מצרים], שראתה אור בשנים 1809-1829 והייתה פרי עבודתם של למעלה ממאה חוקרים שלקחו חלק במסע נפוליאון בארץ ישראל בסוף המאה ה-18.

פייר ויקטור לוטן דה לוואל (1810-1903), ארכיאולוג, סופר וצייר צרפתי. בין השנים 1843-1851 ערך שלושה מסעות מחקר למזרח הקרוב מטעם ממשלת צרפת, ובמהלכם יצר עשרות איורים, שרטוטים ודו"חות. כרך ההדפסים שלפנינו מתעד את מסעו השלישי בשנים 1850-1851, בו ניסה לשחזר את מסלול בני ישראל במדבר. כדי להעתיק את הכיתוב והאיורים מהלוחות שחשף, פיתח דה לוואל טכניקת יציקה חדשה, הקרויה על שמו ומשמשת עד ימינו – Lottinoplastie (תמונות של חלק מן היציקות שהכין דה לוואל במסעו נדפסו בספר שלפנינו).

אוסף ספרי מחקר וספרי מסעות לארץ ישראל ולסביבותיה וספרי מחקר העוסקים בגיאוגרפיה, בטבע ובארכאולוגיה של ארץ ישראל. אירופה וארה"ב, המאה ה-17 עד ראשית המאה ה-20. צרפתית, גרמנית, אנגלית, איטלקית, ספרדית, פורטוגזית, הולנדית, שוודית, דנית, הונגרית ושפות נוספות.

אוסף גדול ומגוון של ספרים שחוברו בידי חוקרים ונוסעים שביקרו בארץ ישראל וסביבותיה במאות ה-17-20, וכוללים תיעוד רחב היקף של הארץ על מגוון פניה. לרבים מהם צורפו מפות, תחריטים, איורים ותצלומים של הארץ, נופיה ותושביה. רבים מהספרים נושאים רישומים, חתימות, חותמות ותווי ספר (אקס ליבריס).

Jerome Dandini. פריז, 1675. מהדורה ראשונה בצרפתית. המחבר, ג'ירולמו דנדיני (Girolamo Dandini; 1554-1634), דיפלומט ותיאולוג ישועי איטלקי. בשנת 1596 נשלח ללבנון כנציג רשמי של הוותיקן ("נונציו") בכדי לפגוש בנציגי הכנסייה המרונית. את רשמיו העלה על הכתב בספר שלפנינו, הכולל תיאור של מנהגי המרונים, הטורקים והיהודים, ופרקים המוקדשים לאי קפריסין. הספר ראה אור באיטלקית בשנת 1656, ובשנת 1675 בצרפתית, בתרגומו של הכומר והמלומד Richard Simon.
