• Volume of manuscripts composed of various sections: Laws of Shechita in Mugrabi Jewish-Arabic; piyutim; novellae on the Torah; homiletics and eulogies; Midrash and novellae; Sefer HaGoralot. [Morocco, 19th century]. The last sections have signatures of the writer: "Eyus ben Avraham Malka".
• Manuscript, homiletics and piyutim, and various lists. [Tiberias?, c. 1880]. Bound with copy (lacking title page) of Sefer HaPizmonim, Calcutta, 1841.
Sermons about tefillin and other sermons, eulogies and letters. Many lists of accounts of the distribution [in Tiberias] in the 1880s. Detailed journal by the writer of his travels as an emissary to the western cities in the 1880s. List of books and manuscripts that he took with him on his journey and other interesting lists. Apparently, the writer was one of the Tiberias scholars and he mentions his father and grandfather who also were Torah scholars in Tiberias. From the lists, it is apparent that he had contact with the Aleppo and Damascus communities.

• Handwritten booklet, Azharot for the Laws of Shechita, a didactic halachic poem by Rabbi Masud ben Shabbat, apparently in his handwriting. At the end of the booklet is his stamp "Masud ebn Yitzchak Shabbat from the city of Sus" – Rabbi Masud ben Shabbat was a Torah scholar in Casablanca and in Tardane.

Long letter of halachic responsum handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Abuchatzira, to Rabbi David Tzabach Rabbi and posek in the city of Mazagan (El Jadida, Algeria). Dar El-Beida (Casablanca), 1930.
Rabbi Avraham Abuchatzira (died in 1948) was born in Meknès and on his way to Eretz Israel, the community of Dar El-Beida asked him to serve in their city as rabbi and dayan. In 1945, he retired and after his death in 1948, the community built a room on his grave and the grave of his friend Rabbi Mesamach Elyakim. He wrote many halachic rulings and most of his writings remained in manuscript form. This responsum and other responsa on this matter by Rabbi Tzabach and Rabbi Mesamach Elyakim were printed in the Shoshanim L'David responsa, Part 2, Choshen Mishpat, Simanim 16-24.

Three of the Ketubot are from the city of “Sijilmasa which is situated on the Ziz River”. [Sijilmasa is the ancient Arabic name of the city of Tafilalt which is situated on the Ziz River in South Morocco where members of the Abuchatzira family served in the rabbinate]. Two other ketubot from the same region.
Five ketubot, varied size and condition, the two ancient ketubot are damaged and lacking.

Collection of booklets of halachic responsa and rulings, by Rabbi Shalom Mashsash, who used to type them himself, with corrections, additions and glosses in his handwriting. Some have his signatures.
Attached to several booklets are draft leaves in the handwriting of Rabbi Mashash. The responsa and rulings were printed in his books.
Rabbi Shalom Mashash (1909-2003) was one of the greatest dayanim and halachic authorities of his times. From 1955, he served as Chief Rabbi and Av Beit Din of Casablanca, Morocco, and in 1976, he immigrated to Jerusalem to serve as Chief Rabbi and head of the Batei Din. He was a prolific writer on halacha and agadda: Mizrach Shemesh, Beit Shemesh, V'Cham HaShemesh, Tevuot Shemesh responsa, Shemesh U'Magen responsa, and more.

Manuscript, Midrash Nur Eltzalem [Ma’Or HaAfela], by Rabbi Netanel Ben Yishaya. [Yemen, 15th century].
Rabbi Netanel ben Yishaya, among first great scholars of Yemen, who lived during the first half of 14th century, authored the Ma’or HaAfela composition in 1329. This Talmudic legend was originally written in Jewish-Arabic and was one of the basic books on Judaism in Yemen. The author integrated philosophical and Kabbalistic concepts with literal and homiletic commentaries and explanations, according to the order of the weekly Torah portions.
Large volume in good condition. Ancient Yemenite writing on quality paper. Illustrations of Noah’s Ark, Zodiac constellations, Cave of the Patriarchs, Tablets of Law, Temple vessels (Menorah, Ark, Cherubs and more), priestly clothes, and more.
This manuscript is one of the most ancient forms of the composition. The manuscript was in possession of Gaon Rabbi Yichye Yitzchak HaLevi (1867-1932), Av Beit Din of Sana’a and chief Rabbi of Yemen and among greatest leaders of Yemenite Jewry, who hand-signed it (page 15) and estimated that it was written during the 15th century: “Based upon the writing technique the book Nur Eltzalem was written over five hundred years ago, Yichye Yitzchak son of Rabbi Moshe HaLevi” .
Manuscript begins in middle of Parashat Bereshit and ends in middle of Parashat Ki Tetzeh. 523 pages. 26 cm. Good condition, stains, wear, fading of ink in several places. New binding.

Chemdat Yamim on the Torah, by Rabbi Shalom Shabazi. Facsimile edition in the author's handwriting (Yemen, 1653). Jerusalem 2007. Enclosed is an original leaf in the author's own handwriting [bound with the facsimile].
Rabbi Shalom Shabazi (the Rashash; 1619-1695), a foremost Yemenite poet and leading Torah scholar who wrote Midrash Chemdat Yamim on the Torah among other compositions. The Midrash is a commentary with homiletics, philosophy and Cabalistic thoughts, compiled from various varied sources [among them are compilations from sources unknown in our times], edited in Rabbi Shabazi's language and style.
266 leaves, 18 cm. Very good condition. Leaf of the manuscript: 21 cm. (folded in margins), good condition, stains, restored moth damage. Bound in elaborate leather binding. Matching box.
Only ten copies of this facsimile have been published. This copy is No. 9 (although on the facsimile it is written that this is one of 73 copies. See attached authorization).
Attached is a booklet with an article written by Dr. Shlomo Zucker an expert in the field, who confirms the identity of the handwriting as that of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi.
